Lillestrøm Municipality manages a large and diverse building portfolio, ranging from schools and kindergartens to care homes and fire stations. To ensure efficient operations, reduce energy consumption, and maintain a healthy indoor climate, the municipality has chosen Zaphire as its top system for building automation and energy monitoring.
The municipality faced challenges in maintaining an overview across many different buildings and systems:
Windows left open in the middle of winter
Broken cooling systems leading to food waste
Classrooms with poor air quality
Zaphire was selected following a tender competition in 2018 and has since worked closely with Lillestrøm’s team to tailor the platform to their needs. The solution provides full oversight of the municipality’s 127 buildings, accessible from mobile, tablet, and PC. The system integrates seamlessly with existing BMS systems, IoT devices, and third-party solutions.
In addition, Zaphire offers advanced automation and notifications, including hierarchical alarms and integration with weather data, making it easier to prevent and handle deviations in the municipality’s buildings. Today, more than 200 people use the system - everyone from kindergarten managers to maintenance personnel.
To ensure optimal comfort in all rooms, the kindergartens now have full insight into temperature and indoor climate - directly from mobile or PC. At the same time, Zaphire’s top-level system enables maintenance staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues immediately, no matter where they are.
The result is fewer unnecessary call-outs, faster problem resolution, and far more efficient building operations and maintenance.
